Welcome to the journey of Chinese calligraphy and brush painting, it is also called Japanese Sumi-e painting. It is tradition to begin with the Four Gentlemen subjects: Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum. Along with Chinese Calligraphy, these subjects provide a rich training ground for developing the tools to explore all the other subjects.
Art Supplies
